After School Super K: Kefir, Kaut and Karengo

Zens (Fournado now five-wire) started school this week and has been a pocket rocket of pent up energy from less outdoor play and more brain usage and he's been coming home super tired but over excited. So I wanted to do something fun (and nourishing) with him one on one and we made these cool smoothies and he chose what to put in them and made his own.

Ingredients:

2 pears

3 kiwi fruit (fact: 5 x the Vitamin C than oranges, this fuzzy green powerhouse is also rich in vitamin A, K, E and B, potassium, copper, folate, and fiber)

1/2 Green matcha powder

3 cups home-made hazelnut milk

handful of cashew nuts (vitamins E, K, and B6, along with minerals like copper, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, iron, and selenium, all of which are important for maintaining good bodily function)

1tbs Tahini (phosphorus, lecithin, magnesium, potassium and iron. It's a good source of Methionine, which aids in liver detoxification. It's one of the best sources of calcium out there. It's high in vitamin E and vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5 and B15

Karengo fronds (Pacific Harvest sources beautiful clean New Zealand seaweed. Karengo has heaps of minerals and iodine)

1 tbs Just Kraut sauerkraut (Be Nourished)

Coconut Kefir (The Kefir Company)

Honey to taste

Stick everything in the blender and whizzzzzzz

Topped with

Coconut yogurt and ground cacao nibs

Zen chose to use Dairy free cocoa squares and sprinkles
